Public Talks

My "Public Talks" are anchored in the present and adaptable to all audiences.

Martin Zibeau

More a discussion than a "Talk", humor and friendly exchanges are at the heart of my presentations.

With 30 years of workshop animations, theater and improv in French and in English, I believe that our meeting will be both pleasant and educational.

If you would like to reserve a Talk, please take a look at my itinerary which will help you choose a date. The sooner you choose your date, the easier it will be for me to make sure I will be there on time ... bike is a slow moving means of transportation !!!

Here are the details of the Talks I offer :

I will be crossing Canada on bike between May 1st and August 13th 2018.

This trip is a lifelong dream that I am fortunate to fulfill during the summer of my 50th birthday.

Inspired in many ways by small and great explorers, specifically by two anonymous skiers that came by my high school to talk about their trip in the Arctic when I was a kid. Now that I am older with a bit of experience, I would like to share those with as many people as I can during my trip across the country. Who knows, I might be able to inspire a few people on my way!

Even if I am hoping to finance a part of my trip with Talks, a lack of founding on your side will never be a reason for me not to stop and meet people interested by topics I care for.

You can find more details on how I manage my prices on this page.

When you will have chosen your Talk, you can fill-up a reservation form here.

Here are the six Talks that I wish to offer :

  • Of course, I can talk about the trip I am on right now Binking across Canada ... just for fun ! But depending on where you are on my route, it may be a bit shorter or longer. No matter where you are, I will be pleased to share my experience about the actual trip or the preparation needed to embark on it. (... keep reading)

  • Two summers without gas (canoeing)

50 days on canoe from Yellowknife to the Arctic Ocean, self-sufficiently. 1200 km with lots and lots of portaging ... but what a beautiful trip ! And then, 33 days solo in the Northwest Territories (... keep reading)

  • 8 years living without electricity or running water in Yellowknife

At the age of 30 I wanted to turn my life around. If some people are looking for voluntary simplicity, my simplicity was more ... involuntary. But I learned a lot about myself and about the abundant life I was brought up in.

  • Organizing ourselves or getting organized by others

In 2014 in the Gaspe peninsula I created with some friends the Loco Local, a self-managed community space, without public founding and open 24/7. We redefined together what the word Trust means. (... keep reading)

  • The Gaspesian Demi
